ABSTRACT
In the South Asian historical palace, Sarmila Boses book Dead Reckoning has generated a lot of controversy. The author touches on several subjects, but one that is particularly significant is the Chuknagar genocide. Bose mentions that the Chuknagar genocide was a political assassination rather than a genocide. She also asserts that the genocide was carried out by the Bihari people, not the Pakistani army. These are very contentious claims.
The present researcher has gathered enough data and information, in contrast to Boses narrative. The primary target of the genocide was common rural people, according to testimony from at least thirty eyewitnesses. Many of them were shot dead by Pakistani forces. The names and addresses of almost two hundred individuals who perished in the genocide have also been gathered by the current researcher. Almost all of these men who passed away were farmers and laborers by trade; none of them were involved in politics.
In terms of research methodology, the sources Sarmila Bose cited in her discussion and commentary on the genocide are quite shoddy. In addition, her claim is contradictory, which calls into question the veracity of the references. The present article provides thorough justification and evidence to refute her assertion.
