ABSTRACT
Although myth criticism has become increasingly prevalent in the field of social science research in Vietnam, its widespread application remains untapped, particularly in studying characters as elements in ritual ceremonies. Focusing on the exploration of magical realist stories by G.G. Marquez (the 1982 Nobel Prize laureate in Literature), this article aims to elucidate the various forms of characters viewed through the lens of ritualistic perspectives. Through this examination, it introduces the mystical significance of ritualistic components, specifically, and the overarching magic realism in Marquezs literary works.
