Research Background: The transformative approach of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) has the potential to significantly reform higher education in India. However, its effective implementation is challenged by several factors including resource limitations, insufficient faculty training, and the need for curriculum adaptation within Indias unique cultural and educational framework. Purpose: The aim is to identify and address the specific hurdles of OBE implementation in India, offering tailored strategies for its successful integration into the Indian educational system. Research Methodology: This research utilizes a mixed-methods framework to investigate Outcome-Based Education in Indian higher education, analysing both literature and a structured Likert-scale survey from 50+ participants to reveal insights into OBEs practical and theoretical facets. Results: This study identifies key challenges in faculty training, curriculum design, and resource allocation for implementing Outcome-Based Education in India, proposing targeted faculty development, curriculum innovation, and localized OBE adaptation to improve graduate outcomes and lifelong learning.
