ABSTRACT
The role of school internship programs in teacher education is increasingly recognized as a critical component in the professional development of future educators. These internships offer pupil teachers the chance to apply theoretical knowledge in real classroom settings, facilitating a deeper understanding of teaching practices and pedagogical strategies. This study explores the relationship between the attitude of pupil teachers toward school internship programs and the effectiveness of school internship programs for pupil-teachers. Conducted at the Department of Education, Birla Campus, HNBGU, Uttrakhand, during the 2021-23 academic session, the research involved a sample of 89 pupil teachers selected through random sampling. Utilizing a self-made questionnaire, the study aimed to assess the attitudes of pupil-teachers and internships effectiveness for pupil-teachers, and find a correlation between the two. Findings reveal a strong positive correlation (r = 0.985) between pupil teachers attitudes towards the internship program and the effectiveness of the school internship program for pupil-teachers, significant at the 0.01 level. This result indicates that more positive attitudes towards the internship are associated with higher perceived effectiveness of the internship program.
