ABSTRACT
Pandemic outbreaks have caused great grief in the past. One of the leading causes of death, accounting for between 25% and 30% of all deaths globally, is infectious diseases. The COVID-19 pandemic serves as a stark reminder that pandemics, like other sporadic tragedies, have happened in the past and will inevitably happen again. Even while we can not stop harmful viruses from spreading, we should be ready to lessen their impact on society. Globally, the present pandemic has had serious economic repercussions, and it appears that no nation will be spared. This affects society as a whole in addition to the economy, which has resulted in significant shifts in consumer and business behavior. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on economic activity over the last two years is just the tip of the iceberg. While the rapid and unprecedented collapse of production, trade, and employment may be reversed as the epidemic eases, historical statistics imply that long-term economic impacts could linger for a generation or more. We can always establish the fact with the use of a statistical test of the data. This study aims to quantify its effects on the Indian economy, specifically focusing on the healthcare and tourism industries.
