ABSTRACT
With rising infertility rates attributed to various medical, lifestyle, and societal factors, the demand for Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) has surged. The Act establishes a regulatory framework designed to promote ethical practices, protect the rights of children born through ART, and safeguard vulnerable groups, especially surrogates. This paper analyzes key provisions of the Act, including clinic licensing requirements, oversight mechanisms, and the creation of a National ART and Surrogacy Registry. Furthermore, it discusses legal and ethical challenges and societal implications. This paper examines the legal and ethical aspects of the Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Act of 2021 in India.
