Relationship between Image Segmentation and Recognition for Scalability Issues

ABSTRACT

Digital image processing exhibits a robust research community in the fields of image enhancement and image-based pattern recognition. Among the different image processing techniques, segmentation is crucial to the step-by-step examination of a given image. Image segmentation is a crucial stage in picture analysis and image extraction. This research examines the fundamental concepts of picture segmentation techniques. In image analysis and computer vision, segmentation has become a major task. This analysis utilises edge detection, thresholding, region-growing, and clustering techniques for picture sectioning. Similarity and discontinuity are the foundations for segmentation algorithms. This paper focuses on the numerous approaches typically employed for image segmentation.
