ABSTRACT

The purpose of this research is to look into the impact of organizational justice and organizational legitimacy on organizational citizenship behavior with mediating effect of organizational commitment on the academic staff of public sector universities in Pakistan. A questionnaire survey was used to collect data from randomly chosen universities, and a sample of 320 respondents was received. The findings show that organizational justice has a positive and strong influence on organizational citizenship behavior, whereas organizational legitimacy has a positive but weak influence on employee extra-role behavior in the academic staff of public universities in Pakistan. Furthermore, this research informs educational institution administrators that by providing fairness and justice perceptions to lecturers and professors, they can improve the overall effectiveness of their institutions in Pakistan.
