Impact of Financial Health on the Quality of Education: A Case Study on CBSE Schools in Rajasthan

ABSTRACT

Background: India is striving hard towards achieving total literacy in the country. The next step in this direction is to provide Quality Education. It is well understood that merely providing education would not serve the purpose till quality is maintained. It is the quality education which will enable each person to identify his / her ability, to explore the conducive possibilities and to deduce the opportunity for a respectable and sustainable survival. The quality of education is influenced by a number of factors. These may be broadly categorized as follows :- i) Infrastructure, ii) Human Resources and iii) Curriculum. A comprehensive and continuous effort for development of the above three factors shall definitely contribute for enhancement of quality of education. It means that finance is required for development of all the above listed factors that influence the quality of education. Method: In this study we selected a sample of CBSE affiliated Schools in the state of Rajasthan of India and collected data of various parameters that influence the quality of education. We framed Hypothesis and conducted statistical analysis and tests including Univariate Analysis, Multivariate Analysis and Correlations Analysis. Results: The results of the study showed that the Financial Health (FH) of the institution is significantly related to the determinants of the quality of education. Conclusion: Based on the results of this work, we strongly advocate the educational institutions to increase their spending on the factors that determine the quality of education.
