Cost-Benefit Analysis of Spice Crop (Turmeric) in Yamunanagar District of Haryana

ABSTRACT
The present study conducted to find out the cost-benefit analysis of turmeric crop in Yamunanagar district of Haryana. The study based on primary data that were collected from spices crop (turmeric) grower farmers through a personal interview method with the help of a well-prepared pre-tested interview schedule for 2021-22.A sample of total 80 respondents (who grew spice crop turmeric) was randomly drawn from Yamunanagar district. To estimate the cost of cultivation of spice the cost has been divided into two heads, i.e., variable cost and fixed cost. The study concluded that the total cost of turmeric was estimated Rs. 227525.10 per hectare.The gross return of the turmeric crop was Rs. 375665.62 per hectare. The net return of turmeric was Rs. 148140.52 per hectare, respectively. Thus, the production or cultivation of turmeric was more beneficial to farmers.
