Behaviour of Major Mergers and Acquisitions in The Indian Banking Sector: A Review

ABSTRACT

The focus of this study is on the dynamics of large-scale consolidation in the Indian banking industry. There have been a lot of mergers and acquisitions recently between different banks, both foreign and domestic. Taking advantage of economies of scale is the driving force behind this endeavor. It a good strategy for making sure your country can compete on the global market. There must first be a wave of mergers and acquisitions in the Indian banking sector motivated by sound commercial and strategic goals. The banking sector in India is expanding rapidly.
