ABSTRACT
The current study aimed to investigate the relationship between the Employee Engagement (EE) and Job Performance (JP) with the moderated-mediation analysis of Public Service Motivation (PSM). Consistent with the Self Determination Theory (SDT), the data was obtained from the federal and provincial officers belonging to various groups of civil service of Pakistan using quantitative research technique. A self-reported survey questionnaire with five-point Likert Scale was operated to collect the data from 275 respondents. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) technique was focused as econometric approach to estimate the regression coefficients. The findings stemmed out a significantly strong and positive relationship between EE and JP. This research accentuated upon the implications of EE as a substantial factor for enhancing the work performance of public sector employees. Conclusively, this study depicted a significant role of PSM as mediator and moderator for employees’ performance. The study entails theoretical and practical implications with reference to the performance culture of Pakistan. The study dispenses foundation for more comprehensive and comparative research studies as future implications.
