ABSTRACT
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is an endocrine disorder that has an impact on the hypothalamus, pituitary, and ovary in women. PCOS prevalence has increased in recent years. This syndrome results in both physical illnesses and psychological disorders. But the researchers have focused more on the symptomatic issues rather than the psychological aspects. This study has been aimed to determine the influence of PCOS on the mental health and well-being of women. It has been observed that women with PCOS are more susceptible to psychological disorders than healthy women. Studies show that these women have a high prevalence of depression and anxiety, and experience a lower quality of life and greater psychological fatigue similar to other patients with chronic diseases. PCOS is associated with several mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, sleep disorder, body dissatisfaction and many more. Infertility and obesity due to PCOS further lead to mental disturbance among women.
