Attitude towards Homework of Class XII Students and Demographic Variables

ABSTRACT
In this descriptive study, attitude towards homework was the dependent variable, gender, locality, type of school, stream and educational qualifications of class XII students were the independent variables. A sample of 120 class XII students of government and private schools of Meham city of Rohtak district of Haryana was drawn using stratified random sampling. In 2006, the Attitude of Students Towards Homework (ASTH) by Sharma, U. was used for the collection of data, and Means, S.D’s, and t-values were used for analysis. The study reported: i) male and female students of class XII differ significantly from each other in their attitude towards homework; ii) Students belonging to the rural area were found to possess a more favorable attitude towards homework than those of urban areas. iii) government and private school students of class XII differed from each other in their attitude towards homework; iv) Students belonging to the science stream possessed a more favorable attitude towards homework than the students of the arts stream. Also, the analytic and graphical behavior of the data represents in the tables and figures.
