ABSTRACT
Dyes are basically coloured compounds used for imparting colors to fabrics, mats, and wooden toys etc. However, overuse of dye-producing chemicals for industrial purposes has made survival of human life and bio-diversity difficult, causing water and air pollution. Research on widely available natural dye sources not just provides industrial benefits, thereby also helps in reducing the burden on dye-producing plants. Researching on natural dyes as a viable alternative of synthetic dyes in the textile industry is the primary objective of this paper. Synthetic dyes are extracted from petroleum, which is harmful to human health and aquatic biodiversity. So for this reason, natural dyes would be an excellent solution to these issues.
